Peen

A form of hammer head or similar tool which terminates in some special shape, other than the ordinary flat face; such as an edge shape or rounded, or a coneshaped, hemispherical, or otherwise modified point. To treat by striking regularly all over with the peen of a hammer. Also spelled pane, pean, pæne, pein and pene.
